Frequently Asked Questions

What four cartridges come in this CM1017mfp set?

The complete 124A set for the Color LaserJet CM1017mfp: Q6000A black, Q6001A cyan, Q6002A yellow and Q6003A magenta. One of each — every toner the machine uses, in one delivery.

This is a home-office machine. Do I really need all four at once?

Need is about timing. A home office cannot send the printing out when a color dies mid-job, and home-office cartridges tend to be ordered one emergency at a time. This set, at $160.10, replaces that pattern with a shelf that already holds every color — each fitted only when its turn actually comes.

How far will the set take a home office?

The ratings are about 2,500 pages for the black and 2,000 for each color at standard coverage. At home-office volumes — invoices, letters, school and club documents, the occasional photo — that is a long stretch of printing, and copies made on the machine draw from the same supply.

Our copies of photos look flat, though prints from the PC are fine. Toner?

Possibly, and the distinction is worth making: copies and prints share the same cartridges, so tired toner affects both — but a copy also passes through the scanner, and a dusty glass flattens copies alone. Clean the glass first; if prints look flat too, the set is the answer, because flat in both means toner.

Will these cartridges work straight from the box?

Yes. Unpack, pull the seal, rock the cartridge gently to level the toner, and slide it into its marked slot. They are Clever Supplies compatibles from our HP compatible range, built to the 124A specification, so the change is the same one the machine was designed for.

What support do I get as a home buyer?

The same as any buyer: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on every cartridge, a support team available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and shipping from the nearest of our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses. Our shipping & returns page has the details.
