Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 8 Color Set, in plain terms?

It is the bulk form of the 124A toner family for the Color LaserJet 1600 — the cartridges built on the four part numbers Q6000A (black), Q6001A (cyan), Q6002A (yellow) and Q6003A (magenta), supplied as the 8 Color Set named in this listing, at $301.71. It is a stock-up purchase, not a different kind of cartridge.

Why would a 1600 owner buy toner in this quantity?

Because the printer earns its keep in color and downtime costs more than toner does. A studio, shop or office turning out color work daily can empty a cartridge inside a single project; holding the 8 Color Set means the replacement is always in the cupboard, and reordering becomes an occasional event instead of a recurring interruption.

What page yield does each cartridge in the set offer?

About 2,500 pages from a black Q6000A and about 2,000 pages from each color cartridge, at standard test coverage. Coverage is the honest variable — solid color pages spend a cartridge far faster than text pages with a color logo — but the rating is the same for every cartridge in the box.

How should a set this size be stored?

Flat, sealed, cool and dry, out of direct sunlight — an office cupboard is ideal. Fit cartridges one at a time as the printer calls for them; there is no benefit to opening several at once, and a sealed cartridge waits far better than an opened one.

Do these fit and behave like the cartridges I have now?

Yes. They are Clever Supplies compatibles in our HP compatible range, built to the 124A specification: same shape, same slots, same fitting motion at the 1600's front door, and the same rated yields — just bought in depth rather than one set at a time.

What if one cartridge in a set this size turns out faulty?

It is covered like every other: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on each cartridge, support Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and dispatch of your order from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, whichever is closest. Our shipping & returns page sets out the process.

About This 124A 8 Color Set for the Color LaserJet 1600

The 8 Color Set is toner bought the way busy color printers actually consume it — in depth. At $301.71 it puts a deep bench of 124A cartridges behind a hard-working 1600, so the machine's output schedule is set by the work, not by the delivery calendar.
