This is the endurance black of the platform: our compatible T127120-S, an Extra High Capacity DURABrite Ultra pigment cartridge rated up to 945 pages (ISO/IEC 24711). Epson positions the whole 127 tier as giving about 50% more prints per cartridge than a High Capacity cartridge — and in black the step is the dramatic one, from the 126 black's 415 pages to this cartridge's 945. Three independent sources agree on the figure: Epson's WF-3540 specification and both major compatible catalogs print the same 945.

Lifetime Warranty · Free tech support

For the machines this cartridge serves — the WorkForce 545, the 630 series, the 840/845, and the WF-3520/WF-3530/WF-3540 and wide-format WF-7010/WF-7510/WF-7520, plus the Stylus NX530 and NX625 — black is the cartridge that sets the reorder rhythm. Doubling its run more than halves black changes, and the pigment formulation keeps that text smudge- and water-resistant on plain paper across all 945 pages.

It carries a new compatible chip — handle by the housing, never touch the green chip contact, as Epson's own guides direct. Note the tier boundary honestly: this cartridge fits the 16 printers in the 127 list below, and it does not fit the four 126-only models (NX330, NX430, WorkForce 435, WorkForce 520), which cannot accept the 127 tier at all. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How many pages does the T127120 black really print?

Up to 945 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 — the figure on Epson's own WF-3540 specification for this cartridge, and the same figure the major compatible catalogs publish. Unlike the 126 tier, the 127 has a single official anchor, so there is no printer-to-printer range to explain: 945 is the rating.

127 black vs 126 black — what's the actual difference?

Endurance: 945 pages against 415, from the same DURABrite Ultra pigment ink and the same slot, on printers that accept both tiers. Epson describes the 127 class as about 50% more prints than a High Capacity cartridge; in black the measured gap is larger still. The 126 remains the cheaper fill per cartridge; the 127 is cheaper in changes, downtime and usually in cost per page.

    Which printers take this cartridge?

    Sixteen models: Stylus NX530 and NX625; WorkForce 60, 545, 630, 633, 635, 645, 840 and 845; WorkForce WF-3520, WF-3530, WF-3540, WF-7010, WF-7510 and WF-7520.

My printer is a WorkForce 435. Will the 127 black fit?

No — the 435 tops out at 126 High Capacity (its lower tier is 124). The same is true of the Stylus NX330, NX430 and the WorkForce 520. Those printers' black is the T126120. The 127 tier only fits the 16 models listed on this page.

Will my printer recognize this compatible cartridge?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — remove the cartridge, check the green chip contact is clean and untouched by fingers, reseat it firmly, and restart the printer. Epson's own guides for this platform also note that ink-level readings can occasionally display incorrectly with non-original cartridges; the cartridge still prints its full rated yield.

    Can I run a 127 black with 126 colors?

Yes — on the 14 dual-tier models that's the most popular configuration on this platform: maximum black endurance where volume lives, High Capacity colors where it doesn't. Each slot accepts its tier independently. (On the NX530/NX625 the colors below black are 125 or 127 — 126 isn't part of those models at all.)

Is the ink pigment or dye?

Pigment — DURABrite Ultra, per Epson's specifications for this platform. That is what makes the output water- and smudge-resistant and highlighter-safe on plain paper, across the cartridge's full 945-page run.

Why does Epson's own 127 4-pack (T127120-BCS) cost differently from your 127 set?

Read that box carefully: Epson's BCS pack is a mixed pack — a 127 black with 126 colors — despite the 127 name on the front. Our 127 Set of 4 is Extra High in all four positions. This single black cartridge, though, is a like-for-like T127120 equivalent either way.

How should I install it to avoid recognition trouble?

Keep the cap on until the moment of installation, hold the cartridge by its housing, never touch the green chip, and seat it until it clicks. Epson's platform guidance adds: use an opened cartridge within about six months.

For a wide-format WF-7510, is the 127 black worth it?

Wide-format pages consume ink by area, so ISO letter-page yields translate into fewer real sheets — which argues for the longest cartridge the slot accepts. On the WF-7010/7510/7520 that is this one.

Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?

No — a Clever Supplies compatible built to the T127120-S specification, with a new compatible chip, labeled compatible on the box and this page. Not manufactured by Epson.

    Warranty and returns?

Lifetime warranty — a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced — plus free returns within the first year. (Returns period note: 1-year returns is our standing compatible-product policy, applied here as an assumption pending Emrah's inkjet-specific confirmation.)
