This is the black cartridge the whole 126 tier is measured by: our compatible T126120-S, a High Capacity DURABrite Ultra pigment cartridge rated up to 415 pages under ISO/IEC 24711. That figure is Epson's own, published on the WorkForce 435's specification page — and it is the only black figure we print for this tier, even though some compatible listings advertise dramatically higher numbers for the same cartridge code. A rating nobody measured is not a rating; ours is Epson's.

Pigment is the right ink for what these printers do all day. DURABrite Ultra black dries fast, resists smudging and highlighter passes, and keeps text edges crisp on plain office paper — in the WorkForce 60, 545, 630-series, 840/845 and the WF-3520/WF-3540/WF-7010/WF-7510/WF-7520 machines this cartridge serves, and in the Stylus NX330 and NX430 home all-in-ones. In the WorkForce 520 it works double duty: that model carries two black slots, so two of these cartridges run side by side.

The cartridge carries a new compatible chip — handle it by the housing and never touch the green chip contact, exactly as Epson's own guides instruct. It fits the 18 printers in the 126 list below; owners of the four 126-only models (NX330, NX430, WorkForce 435, WorkForce 520) should note this is their top tier — their printers do not take 127 cartridges. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the real page yield of the T126120 black?

Up to 415 pages, rated to ISO/IEC 24711 — Epson's published figure for this cartridge, measured on the WorkForce 435. On the WF-3520/WF-3530/WF-3540 platform Epson's specification rates the same cartridge at about 385 pages; the difference is the measuring printer, not the fill. Listings advertising far higher numbers for a 126 black are not quoting an Epson measurement, and we do not repeat them.

Which printers does this black cartridge fit?

    Eighteen models take the 126 tier: Stylus NX330 and NX430; WorkForce 60, 435, 520, 545, 630, 633, 635, 645, 840 and 845; and WorkForce WF-3520, WF-3530, WF-3540, WF-7010, WF-7510 and WF-7520. The full linked list is in Compatible Printers below.

My printer is a Stylus NX530. Will this work?

No — the NX530 is a 125 + 127 printer and does not take 126 cartridges at all. Its black is the T127120 (127 tier) or the 125 standard cartridge. The same applies to the NX625. Check the tier pairing on your model page before ordering.

Does it work in the WorkForce 520's twin black slots?

Yes — the 520 carries two black positions and both take the T126120. Epson's guide marks the model's black entry “Black (2)”. Each cartridge is rated 415 pages on its own; the pair simply doubles the run between black changes.

Is this pigment or dye ink?

Pigment — DURABrite Ultra, in all four colors of this platform. Pigment black is why documents from these printers resist water and highlighter smearing better than dye-based home ink.

Will my printer recognize this cartridge?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — remove the cartridge, check the green chip contact is clean and untouched by fingers, reseat it firmly, and restart the printer. Epson's own guides for this platform also note that ink-level readings can occasionally display incorrectly with non-original cartridges; the cartridge still prints its full rated yield.

Can I mix this with 127 color cartridges?

Yes, on the 14 models that accept both tiers (WorkForce 60, 545, the 630 series, 840/845 and the WF-35xx/WF-7xxx models). Each slot is independent. On the four 126-only models there is nothing to mix — 127 cartridges are not accepted at all.

How does the 126 black compare with the 127 black?

The 127 black (T127120) is rated up to 945 pages against this cartridge's 415 — Epson describes 127 as giving about 50% more prints than a High Capacity cartridge per cartridge class, and the black gap is the widest in the family. If your printer takes both tiers and you print mostly text, the 127 black is the endurance choice; this 126 black is the lower-cost fill.

Why do some stores list much higher yields for 126 black?

Because a compatible maker's own fill claim is not an OEM rating. Epson's two official measurements for this cartridge are about 415 pages (WorkForce 435 page) and about 385 pages (WF-3540 specification). We publish Epson's anchor figure and label it as such; anything higher should be asked for its test standard — there usually isn't one.

How should I handle the cartridge when installing it?

Hold it by the housing, keep fingers off the green chip, and do not remove the cap until you are ready to install — Epson's guides for this platform advise using an opened cartridge within about six months. Seat it until it clicks, then run a nozzle check if the printer has sat idle.

Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?

No — it is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the T126120-S specification, with a new compatible chip, labeled compatible on the box and on this page. It is not manufactured by Epson.

What warranty and returns does it carry?

A lifetime warranty — a cartridge that fails to perform is replaced — and free returns within the first year. (Returns period note: 1-year returns is our standing compatible-product policy, applied here as an assumption pending Emrah's inkjet-specific confirmation.)
