Yellow is the cartridge owners forget — until highlights blow out, greens lose their yellow half, and warning-sign graphics print pale. This compatible T126420-S is the 126 tier's yellow: DURABrite Ultra pigment ink rated up to 440 pages (ISO/IEC 24711), sold individually so a single low color never forces a set purchase.

On this pigment platform, yellow pulls double duty: it is a photo color (warm tones, skin, sunlight) and a document color (highlights, chart segments, attention graphics) across the WorkForce 545, 630-series, 840/845 and WF-3520/WF-3540/WF-7010/WF-7510/WF-7520 office machines and the Stylus NX330/NX430 in the 126 list. Pigment yellow resists smudging on plain paper and keeps its saturation where dye yellows can look thin.

The cartridge carries a new compatible chip — Epson's platform documentation flags a “Low Ink Reminder” quirk on this family, where the level display can lag reality; the FAQ below explains how to read it. It fits all 18 printers in the 126 list, and dual-tier owners can choose the 127 yellow (T127420, up to 755 pages) for the same slot. Covered by our lifetime warranty, with free returns for the first year.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the 126 yellow's rated yield?

Up to 440 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) — the same rating Epson publishes for all three 126 colors (WorkForce 435 figures; the WF-3520-series sheet measures about 470). Yellow consumption is the most content-dependent of the four: photo-heavy printing drinks it, text-heavy printing barely sips it.

How do I know yellow is the empty one? Prints just look 'off'.

Look at greens and highlights: without yellow, greens turn blue and warm tones go cold, while pure yellow areas print blank. The printer's level display plus a nozzle-check pattern (the yellow band missing or broken) confirms it before you order.

Which printers does the T126420 fit?

    The 18-model 126 list: Stylus NX330 and NX430; WorkForce 60, 435, 520, 545, 630, 633, 635, 645, 840, 845; WorkForce WF-3520, WF-3530, WF-3540, WF-7010, WF-7510 and WF-7520. The NX530 and NX625 are not on it — they take 125 + 127.

The ink monitor looks wrong after I installed this. Should I worry?

Epson publishes a “Low Ink Reminder” note for the 126 and 127 families: on this platform the status monitor can show level information imperfectly, including with non-original cartridges. Treat the display as advisory; print quality and the printer's hard stop are the truth. If the cartridge is not recognized at all, that is different — see the next answer.

Will this compatible yellow be recognized?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — remove the cartridge, check the green chip contact is clean and untouched by fingers, reseat it firmly, and restart the printer. Epson's own guides for this platform also note that ink-level readings can occasionally display incorrectly with non-original cartridges; the cartridge still prints its full rated yield.

    Is 126 yellow pigment ink?

Yes — DURABrite Ultra pigment, like every position in this platform (Epson's specifications state the ink type for the family). Pigment yellow is noticeably more smudge- and water-resistant on plain paper documents than dye yellow.

126 yellow or 127 yellow for my WF-3540?

Both are official for that printer. The 127 yellow (T127420) is rated up to 755 pages against this cartridge's 440 — worth it if color volume is high, unnecessary if the printer mostly prints text with occasional color. The slot accepts either, alongside any mix of tiers in the other slots.

Can yellow be replaced on its own?

Yes — individual cartridges are the platform's design. Black, cyan, magenta and yellow each run their own schedule; replace the one that's low.

Does an opened cartridge go bad on the shelf?

Epson's guides for this platform advise using an opened cartridge within about six months. Keep unopened spares boxed, upright and out of sunlight; open only when installing. (A formal shelf-life figure is pending our supplier's confirmation — see Specifications.)

Yellow band is streaky after install — defective cartridge?

Usually not: run a nozzle check, then one head-cleaning cycle. Air and dried nozzles after a printer sits idle cause most streaks. If a cartridge itself fails to perform at any point, the lifetime warranty replaces it.

Is this a genuine Epson cartridge?

No. It is a Clever Supplies compatible cartridge built to the T126420-S specification, labeled compatible on the box and this page.

Warranty and returns — the short version?

Lifetime warranty; free returns within the first year. (Returns period note: 1-year returns is our standing compatible-product policy, applied here as an assumption pending Emrah's inkjet-specific confirmation.)
