Up to 175 pages (ISO/IEC 24711) — Epson's individual rating for the T124320-S, identical to the 124 cyan and yellow. Photo-heavy printing uses magenta faster; documents use it slower.

Which models is it for?

Stylus NX125, NX127, NX130, NX230, NX330, NX420, NX430 and WorkForce 320, 323, 325, 435 — Epson's official 124 roster, all eleven.

My reds look orange after installing a new magenta. Why?

Usually the magenta nozzles, not the cartridge color: run a nozzle check and a head cleaning from the printer's maintenance menu. The printhead is in the printer on this platform, so a clogged magenta channel survives a cartridge swap — clean first, then judge the cartridge.

Pigment or dye?

Pigment — DURABrite Ultra, in every color of this platform. Instant-dry and water-resistant on plain paper.

Can I use it in an NX530 or NX625?

No. Those models live on the platform's 125/127 branch and accept no 124 cartridges. The WorkForce 520 is the same story. Your model's page on our site lists only cartridges Epson lists for it.

Does it work alongside a 125 black?

On the eight core models (Stylus NX125–NX420, WorkForce 320/323/325), yes — tiers mix freely. On the NX330, NX430 and WorkForce 435, no 125 cartridge belongs in the printer at all.

Chip — what should I know?

This cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur with compatible chips; reseat and restart first, and our lifetime warranty covers a cartridge that still won't perform. Never touch the green chip contacts.

Is this the cartridge Epson calls T1243?

Same cartridge, short code. Epson uses both forms: T124320-S in full, T1243 in shorthand (…1 black, …2 cyan, …3 magenta, …4 yellow). This product is the magenta either way you write it.

The printer reports low magenta but prints fine. Trust it?

With compatible cartridges the level display can be approximate — Epson's own manuals say so. Print quality is the better gauge; replace when color actually fades.

Storage and shelf life?

Keep spares sealed, upright, at room temperature; use an opened cartridge within about six months per Epson's platform guidance.

Genuine or compatible?
