Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead does one of these cartridges let our office plan?

Quite a way. The 331-0718 is rated at 2,500 pages — five reams of paper — so an office putting about 100 color pages a week through its Dell 2150 gets roughly six months of yellow from a single cartridge. Lighter users stretch it past a year; heavy color users should still measure life in months, not weeks.

Should we keep a spare on the shelf?

If the printer matters to your workday, yes. Yellow rarely announces itself dramatically — prints just drift cold and bluish — and a sealed spare in the cupboard turns a supply problem into a two-minute swap. Store it flat, sealed, cool and dry, and it will hold its full 2,500-page rating until needed.

Does the 2155cdn use yellow the same way as the 2150 printers?

Yes — copying goes through the same color process as printing, so a Multi-Function 2155cdn draws on the same 331-0718 yellow cartridge for copies as for prints. Offices that copy in color often find yellow moves faster than they expected from print volume alone.

What are we really paying per page?

The cartridge is $27.16 for a rated 2,500 pages, which is about 1.09 cents per page for yellow. In the interest of honesty: cheaper per-page yellow exists. The case for this one is capacity and continuity — one cartridge covering months of color work, with the 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns standing behind it if anything goes wrong.

Can we change just the yellow, or does the whole set go together?

Just the yellow. On the 2150cdn, 2150cn and 2155cdn every color is an independent cartridge with its own life, and replacing only the empty channel is the normal, economical way to run these machines. The other cartridges keep whatever life they have left.

How fast will a replacement reach us?

Orders ship from the closest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — so most offices are a short transit away from at least one of them. Returns and warranty terms are set out on our shipping and returns page, support runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the rest of the range is on our Dell toner page.
