Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this set renew only the color side of the printer?

Because on the Dell 2150cn, 2150cdn and 2155cdn the colors and the black live separate lives. This box holds exactly one of each color — a cyan 331-0716, a magenta 331-0717 and a yellow 331-0718 — and no black at all. Offices usually discover they need it when the color low warnings cluster together while the black still shows plenty left; the set answers that moment without forcing a black cartridge you do not need yet into the order.

What does the set cost compared with three separate cartridges?

The three singles on this site — 331-0716, 331-0717 and 331-0718 — total $81.48 at $27.16 each. This set is $44.51, a saving of $36.97, or about $14.84 per cartridge. Nothing about the cartridges changes between the two ways of buying; the set price is what one box, one shipment and one checkout do to the same three part numbers.

How far does each color go?

Each cartridge is rated at 2,500 pages: the 331-0716 cyan, the 331-0717 magenta and the 331-0718 yellow alike. Real life spreads them out — a month of charts eats one color faster, a month of photographs another — so treat the rating as the size of each tank rather than a promise that all three warnings land together. When one color does give out, the printer only asks for that slot.

Can I fit just one cartridge now and keep the other two?

Yes, and most buyers do exactly that. The three cartridges are individually packaged and individually covered, so the pair you shelve lose nothing by waiting. Keep them sealed and flat, out of direct sun, and they will be ready when their slots call. There is no clock that starts for the whole set when the first cartridge goes in.

Are these Dell originals, and what guarantee comes with them?

They are compatible cartridges manufactured to the 331-0716, 331-0717 and 331-0718 specifications — our own brand, not Dell's — which is the entire reason three colors cost $44.51 here. Each cartridge carries a one-year warranty and one-year free returns; you can read the detail on our shipping & returns page before you order.

How quickly will it get here, and where do I ask for help?

We dispatch from the nearest of our four warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — so most orders travel a short hop. A person answers support Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central if anything about the set needs sorting out, and the rest of the range for these printers, black included, is collected on our Dell toner page.
