Frequently Asked Questions

What does this box bring the cost of a full color round down to?

Six cartridges for $70.52 averages about $11.75 per cartridge — the cheapest way to hold this family's colors. Measured against two of the three-cartridge sets at $44.51 each, the box saves $18.50; measured against six singles at $27.16, it saves $92.44. However you slice it, the six-cartridge box is the bulk end of the 331-0716, 331-0717 and 331-0718 range, priced for offices that would rather reorder twice a year than every few weeks.

How are the six cartridges made up?

They serve the three color positions of the Dell 2150cn, 2150cdn and 2155cdn — cyan 331-0716, magenta 331-0717 and yellow 331-0718 — with a second round behind the first. The listing describes six cartridges across those three positions without fixing a count per color, so think of the box as two color refreshes in reserve rather than a stated number of any one cartridge. There is no black in it; black for these machines is a separate listing entirely.

What yield does each cartridge carry?

2,500 pages apiece, for the 331-0716 cyan, the 331-0717 magenta and the 331-0718 yellow alike. In practice the colors empty at staggered times — whichever one your documents favor runs first — which is precisely why a reserve round works: the replacement for the slot that gives out is pulled from the shelf, and the rest of the box keeps waiting.

How long is a box of six likely to last us?

That depends on how much of your printing actually carries color. A workgroup printing color daily can work through a three-cartridge round in a few months, making this box roughly a two-round supply; a mostly-mono office will hold it far longer. The honest way to judge is by your last few color changes: if you replaced colors twice in the past year, six cartridges is a sensible shelf, not an extravagance.

What if one cartridge in the box turns out to be faulty?

Each cartridge stands on its own coverage. These are compatible cartridges built to the 331-0716, 331-0717 and 331-0718 specifications, and all six carry our one-year warranty and one-year free returns — a problem with one is handled on that cartridge, not by returning the box. The full terms are on our shipping & returns page.

Where does it ship from, and who do we talk to?

Orders leave the closest of our four US warehouses — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — keeping transit short for a heavy box. Support is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM Central for order questions or reorder help, and the complete Dell range for these printers sits on our Dell brand page.
