Frequently Asked Questions

Who genuinely needs five black cartridges for a Dell 1230?

More situations than it first sounds: an office running several of these small printers off one supply shelf, a single 1230 on a front desk that cannot be allowed to stop, or a buyer who simply wants toner settled for a long stretch. What the 5-pack is not aimed at is the occasional home user — five cartridges is up to 7,500 pages, and at a truly light volume that stock could outlast the printer itself.

What does the per-cartridge price fall to in this pack?

Five singles would cost $213.00. At $139.05, the 5-pack saves $73.95 and brings each 330-3012 down to $27.81. Across the pack's 7,500 rated pages, the per-page cost lands at roughly 1.85 cents — the lowest this cartridge gets — though it is worth keeping perspective: even at its best, a small cartridge like this stays a premium way to print compared with large machines.

Can one 5-pack feed more than one printer?

Yes, and that is one of its natural uses. The 330-3012 is the black cartridge for the Dell 1230, and the same unit serves the Dell Color Laser 1235c, so a shared 5-pack can sit on a central shelf and restock whichever machine fades first. One stock line, tracked by part number, covers both.

How should five cartridges be stored and rotated?

Keep them sealed, flat and out of direct heat or sunlight, and use them oldest-first so no unit sits indefinitely. A simple habit works: when the last-but-one cartridge goes into the printer, that is the reorder signal. Stored that way, the pack behaves like a small managed stock rather than a pile of boxes.

Are these Dell-branded cartridges?

No. All five are third-party compatible 330-3012 cartridges, made to the specification the black slots in these printers work with. The $139.05 price, the $73.95 saving against singles and the cover described below apply to these compatible units, not to Dell-branded stock.

What cover stands behind a pack this size?

Every cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, so the cover scales with the pack rather than stopping at the first box. Terms are detailed on our shipping & returns page, support is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders are dispatched from warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
