Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead does a 3-pack plan our toner?

Three 330-3012 cartridges at 1,500 rated pages each give you up to 4,500 black pages in hand. Turn that into a calendar: a Dell 1230 printing 150 black pages a month stretches this pack across roughly thirty months; at 300 a month, about fifteen. Buying three at once converts toner from a recurring errand into a line you revisit once a year or less.

What is the saving against buying them one at a time?

Three singles would total $127.80. The 3-pack is $90.82 — a saving of $36.98 — and the per-cartridge price falls to about $30.27. Spread over the pack's 4,500 pages, the cost per black page comes down to roughly 2.02 cents from the single-cartridge 2.84 cents. It remains a premium per-page figure, as small cartridges always are, but the pack trims it meaningfully.

Is a 3-pack too much stock for one small printer?

For a very light user, possibly — three cartridges could sit for years, and a printer retired in the meantime strands them. For a 1230 in regular weekly use, though, it is a sensible shelf depth: one installed, two in reserve, and no reorder conversation until the last one goes in. Judge it against your monthly page count rather than the headline number.

Which printer is this pack for?

These are the black 330-3012 cartridges listed here for the Dell 1230; the same cartridge also serves the Dell Color Laser 1235c, so a 3-pack can act as shared stock where both machines are in use. What matters for ordering is the part number — if your printer's black cartridge is a 330-3012, this pack restocks it.

Are these genuine Dell cartridges?

They are not. This 3-pack contains third-party compatible 330-3012 cartridges made to the specification the Dell 1230's black slot works with. The $90.82 pack price, the $36.98 saving over singles and the warranty and returns cover below all describe these compatible cartridges.

What happens if one of the three fails early?

Each cartridge in the pack carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so an early failure goes back to us rather than onto your shelf as a loss. Full terms are on our shipping & returns page; support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and stock leaves from warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
