Frequently Asked Questions

Our copies' skies look greenish and the blues have gone dull — is cyan where we look?

Usually, yes. Cyan is the cartridge that builds blues and greens in a four-colour imageRUNNER, and as a GPR-23C runs low, blue skies take on a green cast and corporate blues lose their depth while reds and yellows still look right. Print a test page with a solid blue block: if it comes out patchy or teal, the cyan is the first suspect.

What does cyan actually do in a colour copy?

Every colour on the page is mixed from cyan, magenta and yellow. Cyan carries the blue half of the spectrum plus all greens (cyan plus yellow). That is why a weak GPR-23C does not just hurt blue pages — charts, logos and photos with any blue or green content all drift at once.

What does the cyan share of a colour page cost?

This cartridge is $64.19 and rated at up to 14,000 pages, so the cyan component of a page costs roughly 0.46 cents at standard coverage. Colour production work with heavy blue coverage — presentation decks, charts, photo handouts — draws the cartridge down faster than the rating assumes, which is measured at 5% coverage per colour.

Why is the cyan priced above the magenta and yellow singles?

Honestly, that is simply how the three listings are priced — the yields are identical at 14,000 pages each for the GPR-23C, GPR-23M and GPR-23Y. If you are refreshing all three colours together, the 3-piece colour set works out cheaper per cartridge than buying the singles one by one.

Can we change just the cyan and leave the other colours in?

Yes. The four GPR-23 cartridges are independent units and each is replaced on its own schedule — the black is rated at 26,000 pages and typically outlasts the colours. There is no need to swap a healthy magenta or yellow because the cyan has finished.

What if a new cyan still prints badly?

Every compatible cartridge we sell is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a defective unit is our problem, not yours. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST — tell us what the test page shows and we will work through whether it is the cartridge or something in the machine.
