Frequently Asked Questions
What does a full four-cartridge refresh actually change?
It resets the whole colour engine at once. When black, cyan, magenta and yellow are all fresh together, density is even, brand colours sit where they should, and the slow drift that creeps in as cartridges age at different rates disappears. On a production imageRUNNER whose output goes in front of customers, that reset is the difference between copies that look printed and copies that look tired.
Why is the black in this family rated so much higher than the colours?
The GPR-23 black cartridge is rated at up to 26,000 pages; each colour — GPR-23C, GPR-23M, GPR-23Y — is rated at 14,000. Black carries all text and most copying volume, so the family is built with a bigger black reservoir. In practice it means this set's colours will be due again before its black is, which is normal for the GPR-23 design.
What does the set work out at per cartridge?
The four cartridges together are $235.50, an average of about $58.88 a cartridge across the box. Averages hide the spread — the colours are the 14,000-page units and the black the 26,000-page one — but as a single-order refresh of the complete GPR-23 set, it is the straightforward way to price the job.
Do all four have to be installed the day the box arrives?
No. Install what the machine needs and keep the rest sealed in the cupboard. Many sites fit the full set when colour quality has drifted overall; others change cartridges individually as each warning appears and simply hold the set as their stock. Sealed cartridges store perfectly well — the set is a pricing and stocking unit, not an instruction.
Who should buy the complete set instead of singles?
A machine new to a site, a copy room doing a planned refresh, or any imageRUNNER where all four cartridges are somewhere near the end together. If only one colour has failed, a single is the honest buy; this set earns its place when the whole family is ageing at once.
What cover and delivery come with it?
Each of the four compatible cartridges carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. We ship from four warehouses — IL, PA, GA and CA — so a set this size is not travelling further than it has to.
