Frequently Asked Questions
Why five cartridges in one box?
It is the refresh-plus-reserve idea: a complete GPR-23 family renewal — black, cyan, magenta and yellow — with a fifth cartridge held as the spare for whichever position runs down first. On a production imageRUNNER, the costliest toner event is not the cartridge, it is the job that stops; a built-in spare is what this set size is really selling.
What yield does each position carry in this set?
The family ratings apply unchanged: the GPR-23 black cartridge is rated at up to 26,000 pages, and each colour — GPR-23C, GPR-23M, GPR-23Y — at up to 14,000 pages, all at the standard 5% coverage. Heavy production coverage shortens real life on any of them, so treat your meter history as the planning number.
How does one purchase change our reordering rhythm?
Instead of four separate small orders staggered across a quarter, one order puts the full family plus a reserve on the shelf. The reorder trigger becomes simple: when the spare goes into the machine, that is the day the next set gets ordered. Fewer purchase orders, and the buffer is visible in the cupboard rather than tracked in a spreadsheet.
Is this better value than the 4-piece set?
They do different jobs, so compare them on that basis. The 4-piece set at $235.50 is the plain full refresh. This 5-piece set at $328.39 adds the reserve cartridge on top. If your machine has never once stopped for toner, the 4-piece is enough; if a stopped job costs real money, the spare is the point of this box.
How should the reserve cartridge be kept?
Sealed, boxed, cool and dry, like any stocked toner — and used first when its position comes due, so stock rotates instead of ageing. Don't open it "just to check": an unopened cartridge is a known-good spare, which is the whole reason it is there.
What warranty applies across the five?
Every compatible cartridge carries our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, the spare included, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, so even a five-cartridge box is dispatched from the closest warehouse.
