Frequently Asked Questions
Why does this set leave the black cartridge out?
Because black lives on a different clock. In the GPR-23 family the black cartridge is rated at 26,000 pages while each colour is rated at 14,000, so the three colours tend to run down together long before the black does. A colours-only set matches how these machines actually consume toner — you refresh cyan, magenta and yellow as a group and keep buying black on its own slower rhythm.
What does the set save against the three colour singles?
Bought separately, the GPR-23C ($64.19), GPR-23M ($57.70) and GPR-23Y ($57.70) total $179.59. This set is $142.61 — a saving of $36.98, and the per-cartridge price falls to about $47.54. Same three cartridges, same 14,000-page rating each; the discount is for taking the trio in one box.
Should all three colours be changed at once, or only the empty one?
Either works — the cartridges are independent. But there is a practical case for the full refresh: colours that have aged together fade together, and output colour balance is never better than right after all three are fresh. If two of the three are already low, changing the third with them usually beats a second round of colour complaints a few weeks later.
How much colour coverage does the box hold?
Each of the three cartridges is rated at up to 14,000 pages at 5% coverage — cyan, magenta and yellow each. Colour pages draw the three at different rates depending on content, so treat the ratings as like-for-like comparison figures rather than a combined page promise.
Who is a colours-only set the right buy for?
A copy room whose black cartridge still has most of its life left — common on imageRUNNER machines where black is rated nearly double the colours — but whose colour output has started drifting because all three colours are ageing at once. If black is also nearly done, the 4-piece set is the more complete refresh.
What warranty covers the three cartridges?
Our standard cover on every compatible cartridge: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns on each of the three units in the box. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our IL, PA, GA or CA warehouses.
