Frequently Asked Questions

What does this 6-color set do to the cost of a printed color page?

It takes the Canon 118 family's color cost to its floor. The set is $167.37 for six cartridges, which prices each one at $27.90 — against $43.30 for a color bought singly and $30.98 inside the 3-color set. At each cartridge's 2,900-page rating, that works out to roughly 0.96 cents per page at standard coverage, the cheapest way to buy color for these machines that we offer. For an office that prints color every day, that per-page gap compounds into hundreds of dollars across a year.

How does it compare with simply buying two 3-color sets?

Two 3-color sets would cost 2 × $92.93, which is $185.86. This 6-color set is $167.37, so the same six cartridges cost you $18.49 less in this box — and against six singles at $43.30 each ($259.80), the saving is $92.43. Nothing about the cartridges changes between the boxes; the 6-color set is purely the high-volume way to buy them, priced for offices that already know they will use them.

What colors and ratings are in the box?

Six cartridges spanning the three Canon 118 colors — cyan (part number 2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA) — with every cartridge rated at 2,900 pages. Black is not part of this set: the family's black cartridge is rated at 3,400 pages, wears on its own schedule, and is ordered separately. What this box covers, twice over, is the complete color side of your machine.

Who honestly gets through six color cartridges?

Offices where color is the daily work, not the exception: marketing and design desks, schools printing color handouts by the hundreds, real-estate and training offices, and any workplace running several Canon 118 machines from one supply cupboard. The honest test is your last two color orders — if a 3-color set lasted you around three months or less, this set is sized for you. If a set lasts you the better part of a year, it is more stock than you need, and the 3-color set is the proportionate buy.

Which printers does the Canon 118 6-color set serve?

The imageCLASS color platform built around the Canon 118: machines such as the ImageClass MF8350CDN, MF8380, MF8380CDW, MF8580CDW and MF8330CDN, and the LBP7200CDN, LBP7660 and LBP7660CDN printers. If your machine's supply list shows the three Canon 118 color part numbers — 2661B001AA, 2660B001AA and 2659B001AA — every cartridge in this box has a slot waiting for it in your machine.

Does buying six at once weaken our warranty or returns cover?

No. Each cartridge carries the same 1-year warranty against defects and the same 1-year free returns as a cartridge bought singly, and a fault in one unit is dealt with on that unit — the rest of the set is unaffected. The terms are on our shipping and returns page. One practical note: because the cover runs from purchase, this set suits offices that will actually cycle through it — which is the same volume test described above.

About This 6-Color Set

This is the compatible Canon 118 6-color set — six cartridges across cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA), each rated for up to 2,900 pages — the bulk way to stock color for imageCLASS printers and multifunction machines on the 118 platform. It ships from one of our four US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California and is backed by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. The black cartridge, the color singles and the 3-color set are all on our Canon toner page.
