Frequently Asked Questions

We run several Canon 118 machines — how does one set per machine simplify our ordering?

It turns three purchase decisions into one. Instead of tracking which of your machines needs cyan this month and which needs magenta, each machine gets a complete color set on its own schedule: open the box, refresh all three colors, run the calibration, done. Whoever manages your supplies orders a known item at a known price — $92.93 per machine per color cycle — and nobody discovers a missing color halfway through a print run. For a small office without a dedicated purchasing person, that simplicity is worth as much as the discount.

What is the per-cartridge cost inside this set?

Dividing the $92.93 set price by its three cartridges gives $30.98 per cartridge, against $43.30 if you buy the same colors one at a time. Across a full set that is $36.97 saved, and it puts the running cost of a color page at roughly 1.07 cents at the standard 5% coverage each cartridge is rated on. The saving repeats every cycle, on every machine — offices running three or four of these printers feel it as a real line in the supplies budget, not a rounding error.

Does this set include the black cartridge?

No, and deliberately so. This is the color set: cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA), each rated at 2,900 pages. The Canon 118 black is a different cartridge, rated at 3,400 pages, and in most offices it is consumed on a different rhythm from the colors — mono documents keep eating black while the colors idle. Bundling it in would force you to buy black on the colors' schedule. If your black is due as well, add it separately and refresh all four slots in the same visit.

Which machines take these Canon 118 colors?

Any imageCLASS color machine on the Canon 118 platform — the ImageClass MF8350, MF8350CDN, MF8380CDW, MF8330, MF8330CDN and MF8580CDW multifunction models, and the LBP7200, LBP7200CDN, LBP7660 and LBP7660CDN printers among them. The part numbers are the certain check: if your machines' supply lists show 2661B001AA, 2660B001AA and 2659B001AA for cyan, magenta and yellow, one of these sets serves one machine completely.

How should we rotate sets when some machines print more color than others?

Keep one unopened set as the office float and let the machines draw from it in the order they call for color. Busier machines will cycle their colors faster; the float absorbs that without anyone expediting an order. Write the arrival date on the box, store it sealed in a cool dry cupboard, and when the float goes out, that is your reorder signal — you will always have the next set arriving while the current one is being installed, never after a machine has already stopped.

What if one cartridge out of the set turns out to be faulty?

It is handled on its own. Every cartridge in the set carries a 1-year warranty against defects and is covered by 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should, so a single faulty unit does not unwind the whole purchase. The terms are laid out on our shipping and returns page, and if you would rather troubleshoot first, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 3-Color Set

This compatible Canon 118 3-color set brings together the cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA) cartridges — each rated for up to 2,900 pages — in one box for the imageCLASS color platform. It is stocked in the US and ships from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, with our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns behind every cartridge. The rest of the family, including the black cartridge and the 6-color stock-up set, is listed on our Canon toner page.
