Frequently Asked Questions

Can one purchase honestly cover a year of color printing?

For the right office, yes — this set holds two full rounds of color for a Canon 118 machine. Run the test against your own history: if your last complete color change was five or six months ago, two rounds land you at roughly a year from a single $167.37 order, and toner simply leaves your monthly to-do list. If a color round lasts you a year on its own, be honest the other way — buy the 3-color set and keep the difference in the bank. The arithmetic only rewards stock you actually use.

What do we save across that year against buying singles as we go?

Six color cartridges bought one at a time, at $43.30 each, come to $259.80. This set is $167.37, so the year's color stock costs $92.43 less, with each cartridge effectively priced at $27.90 and each color page at roughly 0.96 cents at standard coverage. There are quieter savings too: one order, one shipment and one invoice instead of six, and no emergency purchase at single-cartridge prices when a color dies the day before a deadline.

How do we store six cartridges so the last one is as good as the first?

Keep them sealed in their bags, flat, in a cool dry cupboard out of direct sunlight and away from radiators. Toner does not spoil on any office timescale when it is stored that way — what ages a spare is heat and a torn seal, not the calendar. Write the arrival month on the outer box, and when a machine calls for a color, take from this set in order rather than opening a newer delivery. Rotation is the whole discipline; it takes ten seconds.

Does this set include the black cartridge?

It does not. The six cartridges in this box cover the three colors — cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA), each rated at 2,900 pages. The Canon 118 black is rated at 3,400 pages and usually runs on a faster cycle than the colors in a typical office, since every mono document draws on it. Most offices stocking this set keep their black on its own standing rhythm alongside it.

Which machines use the cartridges in this set?

The imageCLASS color machines built around the Canon 118 cartridge family: the ImageClass MF8350, MF8350CDN, MF8380, MF8380CDW, MF8580 and MF8580CDW multifunction models, and the LBP7200, LBP7200CDN, LBP7660 and LBP7660CDN printers. The part numbers on your machine's supply list — 2661B001AA for cyan, 2660B001AA for magenta, 2659B001AA for yellow — are the confirmation that this set's cartridges belong in your machine's color slots.

What if our color volume drops after we buy it — are we stuck?

Not stuck, just stocked. Unopened cartridges keep perfectly well under the storage conditions above, so a quieter year simply stretches the set further. And each cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty against defects and 1-year free returns if it does not perform as it should — the terms are on our shipping and returns page. If you want a second opinion on whether your volume justifies this box before ordering, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 6-Color Set

This compatible Canon 118 6-color set stocks six cartridges across cyan (2661B001AA), magenta (2660B001AA) and yellow (2659B001AA) — two full color cycles for imageCLASS printers and multifunction machines on the 118 platform, each cartridge rated for up to 2,900 pages. It ships from whichever of our US warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California reaches you fastest, and it is backed by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Smaller appetites are served by the singles and the 3-color set on our Canon toner page.
