Why is there no LC3011 set?

Because the LD ladder this range is built on sells LC3011 as singles only — there is no LD LC3011 set to price from. The set architecture of this group is built on the High tier, LC3013. If you print mostly in Standard, buy LC3011 singles color by color.

Is this a Standard or a High Yield set?

High Yield — every cartridge in the box is LC3013, rated up to 400 pages (ISO/IEC 24711). We use Brother's product-page tier names: Standard for LC3011, High for LC3013.

Can I mix this set with LC3011 cartridges already in the printer?

Yes — tiers can be mixed color by color in these four printers. Install the High cartridges you need now and keep any Standard cartridges already installed until they run out.

Will my printer recognize these cartridges?

Each cartridge carries a new compatible chip. If your printer's firmware has been updated, recognition issues can occasionally occur — reseat firmly, keep the small green chip contacts clean and untouched, and restart the printer.

What does “Cannot Detect Ink Volume” mean?

It is Brother's own documented behavior for a generic or third-party cartridge: the printer may be unable to determine the ink volume and shows this message, and Brother's support text says the machine keeps working with it. The message is only cleared by a new genuine cartridge, so with this compatible set the ink-level display may not work — judge replacement by print quality, not by the gauge.

Does this set fit LC3017, LC3019 or LC3033 printers?

No. Those are different cartridge families with different slots and model sets. LC3033 in particular is not a higher tier of LC3013, and the four printers in this group do not take LC3033.

Can I install part of the set now and keep the rest?

Yes. Install the colors you need and store the remainder sealed, upright and out of sunlight; open each cartridge only when its turn comes.

Is this a genuine Brother set?

No — it is the Clever Supplies compatible set built to the LC3013 cartridge specifications, labeled compatible on the box and this page. It is not manufactured by Brother.

What warranty and returns does the set carry?

A lifetime warranty covering each cartridge individually — a single faulty cartridge is replaced on its own; the set does not go back as a unit. Free returns apply within the first year.

What is the suspicious LC30134PKS code I have seen elsewhere?

We do not sell it. “LC30134PKS” appears on some compatible-seller pages but could not be verified in Brother's own comparison tables, so it is not part of this product range and no product is built on it.

When does a Set of 4 BCMY make sense over singles?

The Set of 4 is the full reset — one of each color. The Set of 9 is the shelf box for a printer that runs through black fastest: three blacks and two of each color, so the next black change is already in the drawer.

What exactly is in this set?
