We print training manuals — mostly text with color section dividers. Which cartridges carry the load?
Black, overwhelmingly. Manual bodies are monochrome, so the 32,000-page black rating is the number your semester planning hangs on, while dividers, covers and charts draw the 22,000-page color cartridges down far more slowly. That imbalance is expected, and it is why colors can be replaced individually when one finally does run low.
What are the full ratings for our planning spreadsheet?
Black: 32,000 pages. Cyan, magenta and yellow: 22,000 pages each, all at standard coverage. Color-heavy course packs will trim the color figures in practice, but for text-led training materials the ratings hold up well enough that most coordinators budget straight from them and keep one set in reserve.
Start of term means a stock-up order. Any storage guidance?
Store sets sealed and flat in a cool, dry room — not on top of a radiator, not in a sun-facing window — and install the oldest set first when the term begins. Orders for the stock-up ship from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, whichever is nearest, so replenishment mid-term is a short trip rather than a cross-country one.
Mid-semester, one color runs dry between print runs. Are we down?
Only for the minutes a single-cartridge swap takes. Each color installs independently, so the empty one is exchanged and the run resumes — no need to retire three healthy cartridges or to hold a class set hostage to a full-set change.
What support and coverage does an institution get?
