Frequently Asked Questions

My printer's nameplate reads Phaser 4620YDNM. Is this really its listing?

Yes — this page is the listing named for exactly that model designation, so if your machine's badge reads 4620YDNM, you are on the page written for it. Underneath the long name sits a simple fact: the 4620YDNM belongs to the Phaser 4620 family, and like the rest of that platform it takes the high-yield black cartridge numbered 106R01535. Check the cartridge you are removing — if it carries that number (or its 4600H alias), this compatible cartridge is the replacement, whatever the suffix on the printer.

What yield do I get from this cartridge?

A rating of 30,000 pages at the standard 5% page coverage, which is the high-yield capacity for this platform. In cost terms that is about 0.49 cents per page at the $146.12 price. Documents heavier than text — dense forms, graphics — will consume toner faster than the rating assumes; ordinary office output tracks it well.

Does this cartridge fit the plainer-named models too?

It does. The same cartridge serves the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants. The platform shares one cartridge design from end to end, so a spare is never locked to a single suffix.

How long will one cartridge last in the 4620YDNM?

At 1,000 pages a month, roughly 30 months. At 2,000 pages a month, about 15 months. At 4,000 pages a month, around seven to eight months. For most owners of a workgroup machine in this class, a cartridge change is an annual-or-rarer event.

Print has started fading down one side. What first?

Take the old cartridge out and rock it gently side to side, holding it level, five or six times. Toner settles unevenly as a cartridge empties, and redistribution often brings back even, dark print for a good while longer. Uniform pale pages that ignore the rocking are the true end-of-life signal — that is when this replacement goes in.

What backs this cartridge if it misbehaves?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the store's standard protection on every cartridge. The terms in full are on the shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
