Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 30,000-page yield figure actually assume?

It assumes pages printed at 5% coverage — the industry standard that approximates a typical page of business text — measured under controlled conditions. Every cartridge for this platform is rated by that same ruler, which makes it the honest basis for comparison. Your Phaser 4622DT's real count will move with your documents: letters and reports land near the rating, while pages of dense forms or full graphics spend toner faster and end the cartridge sooner. The cartridge itself is the high-yield 106R01535, priced here at $146.12 — roughly 0.49 cents per rated page.

Which cartridge number belongs to the 4622DT?

106R01535. It is the high-yield black cartridge for the entire Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, also known by the shorthand 4600H. This listing is named for the 4622DT so you can order by the name on the printer; the stamped number on your old cartridge is the check to make before you buy.

Does it fit the sibling Phaser models?

Yes — the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants all take this same cartridge. That is the platform working as designed: one cartridge, many machines.

How long will the cartridge last once installed?

At 950 pages a month, about 31 months. At 1,900 pages a month, roughly 15 to 16 months. At 3,800 pages a month, around eight months. In short, a cartridge change for the 4622DT is an occasional event, not a routine — one of the reasons offices standardize on high-yield platforms like this one.

Output is pale in patches. Is the cartridge finished?

Patchy paleness near the end of a cartridge is usually settled toner rather than an empty cartridge. Take it out, hold it level, rock it gently side to side five or six times, and put it back. If the patches clear, you have redistributed the toner that remained. A uniformly pale page that stays pale after rocking is a genuinely spent cartridge.

What protection do I have if it performs badly?

Our 1-year warranty covers defects and our 1-year free returns cover a cartridge that does not perform as it should. The terms are published on the shipping and returns page, and support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
