Frequently Asked Questions

My Phaser 4600N is flashing a low-toner warning. How soon do I actually need this?

Less soon than the warning implies. Low-toner alerts on this platform are set with generous margin — they are a prompt to order, not a shutdown. Most users print hundreds, often thousands, of acceptable pages after the first warning. Order when the warning appears, keep printing, and swap when the output itself turns pale or uneven. This cartridge — the high-yield 106R01535, rated at 30,000 pages — is the one your 4600N is asking for.

What number identifies the 4600N's cartridge?

106R01535. It is the high-yield black cartridge for the whole Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, sometimes labeled by its shorthand name, 4600H. This listing is named for the 4600N so the cartridge can be found by printer model, but the number on your old cartridge is the final confirmation — if it says 106R01535, this is the match.

Does the same cartridge fit other Phaser models in our office?

Yes — the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants all share it. One cartridge type across the platform means a spare is never stranded in the wrong department.

How long should this cartridge last once installed?

At 800 pages a month, over three years. At 1,800 pages a month, about 16 to 17 months. At 3,500 pages a month, roughly eight to nine months. The 30,000-page rating assumes standard 5% coverage — ordinary text — so if your 4600N mostly prints dense documents or graphics, expect the shorter end of any estimate.

Pages are fading on one side only. Is the new cartridge the only fix?

Before you swap, try the free fix: remove the old cartridge, hold it level and rock it gently from side to side five or six times. Toner settles as the cartridge empties, and redistribution often restores even print for a good while. When fading is uniform and rocking stops helping, the cartridge is genuinely empty — that is when this replacement earns its place.

What if the compatible cartridge has a problem?

It is protected by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, like everything we sell. The terms are spelled out on the shipping and returns page, and a human being answers support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
