Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this the "high yield" cartridge for the Phaser 4620DTM?

Capacity. This cartridge — part number 106R01535 — is rated at 30,000 pages at the standard 5% coverage, the high-capacity option for the Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform. High yield does not change how dark the print is or how the machine behaves; it changes how often you open the printer. For a departmental machine like the 4620DTM, that interval is the feature: fewer swaps, fewer interruptions, and a cost per page of about 0.49 cents at the $146.12 price.

How do I confirm this is my printer's cartridge?

Check the number on the cartridge you are replacing. The 4620DTM takes the 106R01535, which you may also see written as the 4600H. This listing is named for the 4620DTM so it can be found by model name, but the stamped number is the check that never lies.

Does it fit the platform's other models?

Yes — the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families and their letter-suffixed variants all use this same cartridge. Stock bought for one machine is valid stock for the others.

How long is 30,000 pages in calendar terms?

At 1,300 pages a month, about 23 months. At 2,600 pages a month, roughly 11 to 12 months. At 5,200 pages a month, just under six months. Those figures assume text-weight documents; a machine living on dense forms or graphics will finish the cartridge sooner, which is true of every cartridge rated by the same standard.

The low-toner light is on but the printing still looks black. Keep going?

Keep going. The alert is timed to leave you ordering room, not to mark an empty cartridge. When pages do begin to fade, remove the cartridge and rock it gently side to side to redistribute the toner that remains — you will often restore solid print for a good stretch. Replace when fading becomes uniform and stays after rocking.

What happens if this cartridge underperforms?

Our 1-year warranty covers defects and our 1-year free returns cover a cartridge that does not perform as it should — the risk of trying the compatible does not sit with you. The shipping and returns page has the full terms, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
