Frequently Asked Questions

How long will this cartridge last in our Phaser 4620DT?

Its rating is 30,000 pages at standard 5% coverage. At 1,100 pages a month that is about 27 months; at 2,400 pages a month, roughly a year; at 4,800 pages a month, around six months. The 4620DT is a departmental machine, and this is its high-yield cartridge — part number 106R01535 — so even busy offices should expect intervals measured in seasons. Pages dense with graphics will shorten any of those spans, since they spend toner faster than the text-based standard.

Is this the right cartridge for the 4620DT?

Yes, if the cartridge in your machine is numbered 106R01535 — and it will be, because that is the high-yield black cartridge the whole Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform uses. It also goes by the shorthand name 4600H. This listing is named for the 4620DT so you can find it by your printer's model; the number is the confirmation.

Which other Phaser models does it fit?

The Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families, including their letter-suffixed variants. One cartridge design across the platform is deliberate — it lets an office stock a single toner for several different machines.

What does the cartridge cost per page?

About 0.49 cents: $146.12 against the 30,000-page rating. That is the honest way to compare any two cartridges for this printer — divide price by rated yield — and by that measure a high-yield compatible cartridge is inexpensive printing. Buying the same cartridge in multi-packs trims the figure toward 0.44 cents.

Streaks and light patches have appeared. Is the cartridge dying?

Possibly settling rather than dying. Near the end of its life a cartridge's toner can sit unevenly and print light in patches. Remove the cartridge, keep it level, rock it gently side to side a few times, and reinstall. If the output clears, you recovered the remaining toner. Persistent uniform paleness is the real end-of-life signal.

What am I covered by if it fails?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the standing cover on every cartridge we sell. You will find the complete terms on the shipping and returns page, and support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
