Frequently Asked Questions

What cartridge does the Phaser 4622 take? I want the number, not a guess.

106R01535 — the high-yield black cartridge of the Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, to which the 4622 belongs. It is also referred to as the 4600H. This listing is named for the Phaser 4622 so its owners can order by printer name, but the number to verify is the one stamped on the cartridge you are pulling out: if it reads 106R01535, this compatible cartridge is its replacement, rated at the same 30,000 pages.

What is the cost picture on one cartridge?

$146.12 for a 30,000-page rating — about 0.49 cents per page at the standard 5% coverage. For most 4622 owners that makes toner a minor operating cost and replacement an infrequent one. The same cartridge costs less per unit in multi-packs, but for a single machine on a moderate workload, one at a time is a perfectly defensible way to buy.

Does this cartridge work in the other platform printers?

Yes. It serves the Phaser 4600 and Phaser 4620 families, and the Phaser 4622DN — the DN variant within the 4622's own family — along with the letter-suffixed variants across the platform. One cartridge design covers the range.

How long will it last in our 4622?

At 1,000 pages a month, about 30 months. At 2,000 pages a month, roughly 15 months. At 4,000 pages a month, around seven to eight months. Text documents track the rating closely; heavy graphics coverage uses toner faster and shortens the run, as it does with any cartridge.

Pages are coming out light on one side. New cartridge, or something else?

Try the cartridge you have first: remove it, hold it level, and rock it gently side to side five or six times. Uneven fading late in a cartridge's life is usually settled toner, and redistributing it restores even print for a good while. If the whole page is pale and rocking changes nothing, the cartridge is empty and this replacement is due.

What cover do I get?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the standard protection on every cartridge we sell. The full terms are on the shipping and returns page, and our support team answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
