Frequently Asked Questions

Which part number am I actually buying on this page?

106R01535 — the high-yield black cartridge for the Phaser 4600 and 4620 platform, rated at 30,000 pages. This listing is named for the Phaser 4620DN because that is how its owners search, but the cartridge inside is identified by that number (it also answers to the shorthand 4600H). If the cartridge coming out of your 4620DN is stamped 106R01535, this compatible cartridge is its replacement.

What will it cost per page?

Roughly 0.49 cents — $146.12 spread across the 30,000-page rating at standard 5% coverage. For a networked departmental printer, that is the quiet virtue of the high-yield design: the purchase price looks substantial, but the cost of each printed page is a fraction of a cent, and the cartridge lasts long enough that replacement is a rare event.

Does this cartridge serve the other platform models too?

Yes. It is the shared cartridge of the Phaser 4600, Phaser 4620 and Phaser 4622DN families, letter-suffixed variants included — the 4620DN among them. Offices running a mix of these models buy one cartridge type and are done with it.

How long will one cartridge last in the 4620DN?

At 1,000 pages a month, about two and a half years. At 2,000 pages a month, around 15 months. At 4,000 pages a month, roughly seven to eight months. Those spans assume text-weight pages; if the machine spends its life printing dense graphics or heavy forms, toner goes faster and the cartridge finishes sooner.

The printer reports low toner but output still looks good. Trust the printer or the pages?

The pages. The low-toner alert is calibrated to warn early so a replacement can be ordered in time — it is a planning signal, not a measurement of emptiness. Print on until the output fades, then rock the old cartridge gently side to side to redistribute its last toner. Swap in this new cartridge when even that stops restoring the print.

What guarantees come with this compatible cartridge?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — the store's standard cover on every cartridge. Faulty or underperforming units are not your problem to absorb. Full terms are on the shipping and returns page; support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
