Frequently Asked Questions

Why do our blue charts and logos look washed out when ordinary text still prints perfectly?

Because the two jobs belong to different cartridges. Text is printed by the black unit, but every solid blue fill on a page — chart bars, logo panels, presentation backgrounds, the blue of a hyperlink — is laid down by this cyan cartridge. A depleting 006R01398 therefore shows itself in graphics long before plain pages look wrong: blues lose their depth, teal headings slide toward green, and large flat areas of color come out streaky or pale at the edges. The machine can still deliver magenta and yellow at full strength, so it is specifically the blue side of every recipe that weakens. Print the machine's built-in color test page and look at the cyan patch: if it is faint or banded while the other colors are solid, the cartridge — not the document — is the problem, and replacing it restores the blues.

Our office prints a lot of blue-branded reports and presentations. How hard does that work this cartridge?

Harder than the page count alone suggests. Blue is the default color of office graphics — corporate templates, spreadsheet charts, screenshots and web printouts are all cyan-heavy — so on a WorkCentre that mostly produces branded documents, this cartridge can cycle faster than the black one even though far fewer color pages are printed. The 15,000-page rating behind the 006R01398 is measured at a standard 5% page coverage, roughly a page of text with a small graphic. A full-color presentation page can carry several times that coverage in cyan alone. Treat the rating as a comparison benchmark between cartridges, and use your machine's supplies percentage as the working guide for when this one will actually run out.

What does a 15,000-page rating mean in calendar time on a shared department machine?

It depends on the department's monthly color volume. At rating conditions, a machine printing around 1,000 pages a month would take well over a year to work through one 006R01398; at 2,500 pages a month the same cartridge lasts roughly six months, and heavy graphic coverage shortens both figures. The practical habit is to glance at the cyan level whenever the machine is loaded with paper: once it drops into single figures, ordering the replacement then means it is on the shelf before the current cartridge fades, rather than after a deadline print run has already gone pale.

What does each page cost with this cartridge?

The maths is simple: $47.94 buys a cartridge rated for 15,000 pages, which puts the cost of one rated page at roughly a third of a cent — about 0.32 cents. That is the whole charge: no click contract, no monthly minimum, no service plan riding along behind it. It is one cartridge, bought outright, for one color position in the machine. An office comparing supply arrangements can set that third-of-a-cent figure directly against whatever a per-page managed-print contract charges for color output on the same WorkCentre.

Which machines does the 006R01398 fit?

Three WorkCentre generations that share the same toner bay. The first is the WorkCentre 7425 family: the base machine, the booklet-finisher builds WorkCentre 7425 FB and WorkCentre 7425 FBX, the WorkCentre 7425 FL, WorkCentre 7425 FLX and WorkCentre 7425 FX, and the R-series variants WorkCentre 7425 R, WorkCentre 7425 RB, WorkCentre 7425 RBX, WorkCentre 7425 RL, WorkCentre 7425 RLX and WorkCentre 7425 RX — those suffix letters describe tray and finisher options fitted to the same engine, not a different toner. The second generation is the WorkCentre 7428 line: the base WorkCentre 7428 FB and WorkCentre 7428 FBX finisher builds, the WorkCentre 7428 FLX and WorkCentre 7428 FX, and its R-series — WorkCentre 7428 R, WorkCentre 7428 RB, WorkCentre 7428 RBX, WorkCentre 7428 RL, WorkCentre 7428 RLX and WorkCentre 7428 RX. The third is the WorkCentre 7435 range: the base model, WorkCentre 7435 FB and WorkCentre 7435 FBX, the WorkCentre 7435 FL, WorkCentre 7435 FLX and WorkCentre 7435 FX, and the R-series WorkCentre 7435 R, WorkCentre 7435 RB, WorkCentre 7435 RBX, WorkCentre 7435 RL and WorkCentre 7435 RLX. The quick confirmation before ordering is the code on the cartridge coming out of the machine: if it reads 006R01398, this is the correct cyan refill.

What cover comes with this cartridge, and how does delivery work?

Every cartridge leaves the warehouse closest to you — we stock Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California — and the delivery and returns detail lives on our shipping & returns page. Behind the cartridge stands a 1-year warranty together with 1-year free returns: a unit that turns up faulty, or gives up early in its rated life, comes back to us for a replacement or a refund instead of becoming your problem. Questions before you order — including a second pair of eyes on the cartridge code — are answered by our support team Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the wider range for this platform is gathered in our Xerox catalogue.
