Frequently Asked Questions

Our Xpress M2876 prints in bursts — quiet for days, then a long run of paperwork. How does one cartridge handle that pattern?

Very comfortably. Toner is spent by the page, not by the calendar, so a burst simply works through the MLT-D116L's 3,000-page rating faster while quiet weeks barely touch it. A heavy month might see a cartridge gone in weeks; a quiet quarter can stretch the same cartridge for months. Nothing about the pattern harms the cartridge — the powder does not dry out or settle the way liquid ink can.

How can I tell the new cartridge has seated properly in the M2876?

It slides along its guides and settles with a firm stop, the front cover closes flush, and the first test page prints evenly from edge to edge. If the cover will not close or the test page comes out blank or heavily streaked, pull the cartridge out and reseat it — a unit that is a few millimetres short of home behaves exactly like that. The MLT-D116L marking on the cartridge body should match what you ordered.

What does this cartridge make a 100-page report cost in toner?

About $1.07. At the list price of $32.13 for a rated 3,000 pages, toner works out near 1.07 cents a page, so a 100-page report carries roughly a dollar of toner. Dense, dark pages push the figure up a little; plain correspondence lands right on it.

Which other Samsung printers run on this same cartridge?

The MLT-D116L is the shared cartridge for a dozen Samsung machines. Alongside the Xpress M2876 it serves the Xpress M2626, Xpress M2676, Xpress M2826, Xpress M2835 DW, Xpress M2875, Xpress M2875 DW, Xpress SL-M2625D, Xpress SL-M2675F, Xpress SL-M2825DW, Xpress SL-M2875FD, SL-M2835DW and SL-M2885FW. One cartridge code can therefore stock every printer in that list — the whole family sits in our Samsung toner range.

The M2876 sometimes sits unused for a month — does the cartridge suffer for it?

No. Toner is a dry powder and keeps its properties while it waits inside the printer. If the first prints after a long idle spell look slightly light, take the cartridge out, rock it gently from side to side to level the powder, and print again — output normally returns to full strength. Keep the printer out of damp corners and away from radiators and that is all the care it needs.

What back-up comes with this cartridge if something goes wrong?

Every cartridge is backed by a one-year warranty and free returns across a full year, so a unit that leaks, fades far too early or fails outright can go back at no cost to you — the process is set out on the shipping and returns page. Orders leave from our IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses, and you can reach support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
