Frequently Asked Questions

This listing says Premium Quality — does it cost more than the standard five-pack?

No, and it is worth saying plainly: this pack is $123.96, exactly the same price as the standard MLT-D104S five-pack in our range. The Premium Quality wording in the name does not add a premium to the bill — you pay the same money for five cartridges either way.

So what is different about the cartridges in this pack?

Nothing we would ask you to pay for. The rating is the same 1,500 pages per cartridge, the code is the same MLT-D104S, the printers they fit are the same, and the warranty and returns terms are identical. Treat the two listings as two doors to the same product: pick either, and the cartridge that arrives and the cover behind it are the same.

What does each cartridge work out to at this price?

$24.79 — $123.96 divided across five cartridges, against $39.58 for a single. That brings the toner cost per page down from roughly 2.64 cents to about 1.65 cents, and saves $73.94 against buying the five cartridges one at a time.

How much printing does the pack hold?

Five cartridges rated at 1,500 pages apiece: 7,500 pages in the box. A desk printing 300 pages a month works through that in about two years; a busier small office at 750 a month still gets ten months from a single order.

Which printers do these cartridges serve?

The full MLT-D104S family: the ML-1660, ML-1661, ML-1665, ML-1666, ML-1667, ML-1670, ML-1675 and ML-1676 printers, the ML-1860, ML-1861, ML-1864, ML-1865, ML-1865W and ML-1866 models, and the SCX-3200, SCX-3200K, SCX-3200W and SCX-3201 multifunctions. Our Samsung range page lists them all.

What cover stands behind this pack?

The same cover as every MLT-D104S listing here: a one-year warranty on each cartridge and free returns for one year, applied per unit — a cartridge that faults goes back alone, at no cost to you. The how-to is on the shipping and returns page. We ship from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
