Frequently Asked Questions

Should I keep a spare 44574701 on the shelf for our MB471W MFP?

For a multifunction machine that prints and copies for a whole office, yes — it is the cheapest insurance there is. At $28.45, one spare on the shelf means a cartridge that dies on a deadline day costs you a two-minute swap instead of days of faded copies. Because the MB471W MFP's 44574701 is rated at 4,000 pages, a single spare realistically covers months of buffer for a small team.

How long can a spare cartridge sit in storage?

Kept sealed in its packaging, in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, a toner cartridge stores well for an extended period. Open it only when you install it — the seal is what protects the toner inside. Rotate stock if you keep more than one: oldest on the shelf goes into the machine first.

How many pages will the cartridge in the machine deliver?

The rating is 4,000 pages — about 0.71 cents per page at the $28.45 price. Copies count against that total just like prints on the MB471W MFP, and heavy-coverage pages draw it down faster.

Is this an original Oki cartridge?

No, it is a compatible 44574701 sold under our Clever Supplies brand, made to the same specification and rated for the same 4,000 pages. The difference is the price, not the page rating.

What if I open the spare and it prints poorly?

The warranty still applies: every cartridge comes with a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the full terms on our shipping and returns page. Support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

How quickly do orders arrive if I do run out?

We ship from whichever warehouse — Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California — is closest and stocked, so most deliveries take a few business days. For the rest of this family's supplies, see our Okidata toner page.
