Frequently Asked Questions
Our MB460 MFP copies and faxes as much as it prints — does that change how fast toner runs out?
Yes, and it catches a lot of offices out. Every copy and every received fax page uses toner from the same 43979101 cartridge as your print jobs. An MB460 MFP in a busy office can easily consume two or three times the toner of a print-only estimate. That is exactly why this 5-pack exists: five cartridges at 3,500 pages each give you 17,500 pages of combined print, copy and fax capacity for $64.58 — about $12.92 a cartridge instead of $27.70 bought singly.
How much do we save with the 5-pack over singles?
Five single cartridges would cost $138.50. This pack is $64.58, so you save $73.92 — more than half. Per page, the pack works out to roughly 0.37 cents versus about 0.79 cents for the single-cartridge route, which matters on a multifunction machine that quietly eats pages all day.
What are the signs the installed cartridge is nearly empty?
Fading down the center of the page, patchy grays on copies, and output that improves briefly after you rock the cartridge side to side are the classic signs. On an MFP, incoming faxes often show it first because you cannot choose when they print. Keeping the next cartridge from this pack on the shelf means a swap takes two minutes instead of an emergency order.
Are these genuine Okidata cartridges?
No. This is a compatible 43979101 pack, made to match the original cartridge's fit and 3,500-page yield rating. Every cartridge is covered by a one-year warranty and one-year free returns — details are on our shipping & returns page. If one underperforms, you are covered for a full year.
Can I open one cartridge and keep the rest boxed?
Absolutely — that is the intended way to use the pack. Each cartridge is individually sealed. Leave the spares in their packaging in a cool, dry spot out of direct sunlight, and they will be ready when the multifunction's output starts to fade. There is no need to install or open more than one at a time.
How quickly will my pack arrive, and who do I contact with questions?
We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, so most orders travel a short distance. Our support team answers questions Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST — including help working out whether the 5-pack or a smaller size suits your MB460 MFP's volume. The wider range is on our Okidata page.
About This MB460 MFP 5-Pack
Multifunction machines burn toner in ways print-only estimates never predict — copies, faxes and scans-to-print all draw from the same cartridge. This bundle of five compatible Okidata 43979101 black cartridges (3,500 pages each, 17,500 total) is sized for that reality. At $64.58 it costs less than half of buying the same five cartridges one by one, and it keeps a spare within arm's reach for the day the MB460 MFP starts printing pale faxes.
Across MB460, MB470 and Oki B430d, the tray takes this same 43979101 cartridge. The platform's other listings are the MB460 MFP single cartridge, the high-yield 43979201 5 pack and the matching 43979001 drum unit.
