Frequently Asked Questions
What does a printed page actually cost with this MB460 5-pack?
Each of the five 43979101 cartridges in this pack is rated at 3,500 pages, so the box holds 17,500 pages of capacity for $64.58. That works out to about $12.92 per cartridge and roughly 0.37 cents per page. Bought one at a time at $27.70, five cartridges would cost $138.50 — the 5-pack saves you $73.92 and cuts the per-page cost by more than half compared with the single-cartridge price of about 0.79 cents.
Are all five cartridges in the box identical?
Yes. Every cartridge in this MB460 5-pack is the same Okidata 43979101 black cartridge — there are no mixed types or partial fills. You install one, keep four sealed on the shelf, and swap in the next when the installed one runs out. The pack is simply five of the cartridge your printer already uses, priced as a bundle.
How long will five cartridges last in a typical small office?
That depends entirely on volume. At 500 pages a month, 17,500 pages of capacity stretches to roughly 35 months. At 1,500 pages a month — a busy shared MB460 — expect about a year. Heavy users printing 3,000 pages a month will go through the pack in around six months. The 3,500-page rating assumes standard 5% page coverage, so dense pages will shorten each cartridge's life somewhat.
Is this an original Okidata cartridge pack?
No — these are compatible 43979101 cartridges, not OEM Okidata product. They are built to the same fit and page-yield specification as the original and are covered by our one-year warranty plus one-year free returns, so if a cartridge fails or disappoints, you are not stuck with it. The full policy is on our shipping & returns page.
How should I store the four cartridges I am not using yet?
Keep them sealed in their bags, stored flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Sealed toner cartridges keep well for a long time under those conditions. When you install the next one, give it a gentle side-to-side rock before fitting it to redistribute the toner powder evenly.
Where does my order ship from, and how do I get help?
Orders ship from one of our four warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, whichever gets the pack to you fastest. If you need help choosing between pack sizes or have a question about your MB460, our support team is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. You can also browse the full range on our Okidata toner page.
