Frequently Asked Questions

Is a 5-pack too much toner for a single B4100?

It depends on how hard your B4100 works. The pack holds up to 12,500 pages. If you print a few hundred pages a month, that is years of supply — more than a light user needs, and the single cartridge at $25.48 would be the honest recommendation. But if the B4100 is a daily workhorse, a 5-pack simply means you stop thinking about toner for a long stretch.

What do I save by buying the pack instead of singles?

Five single 42103001 cartridges would cost $127.40 bought separately. The 5-pack is $53.45, so you save $73.95 — and each cartridge in the pack works out to $10.69 instead of $25.48.

What does that do to the cost per page?

Each cartridge is rated at up to 2,500 pages, so the pack brings the running cost down to roughly 0.43 cents per page, versus about 1.02 cents per page at the single-cartridge price. On a printer that prints all day, that difference adds up quickly.

Can one pack cover more than just the B4100?

Yes. The 42103001 cartridge is shared by the B4100, B4200, B4250, B4300, B4300n and B4350, so a 5-pack can be spread across several machines in the same office rather than being tied to a single printer.

How do I look after the cartridges I'm not using yet?

Keep them sealed in their packaging, stored flat in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. Only open a cartridge when the one in the printer is actually spent, and use the pack in order.

What cover comes with the pack?

Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, the same as a single purchase — full terms on our shipping & returns page. Support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
