Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is inside this 2-pack?

Two individually sealed Q5949X black cartridges, each one the full high-yield unit rated at 6,000 pages — not two half-size cartridges. The pair is $54.27. One goes into the printer today; the second stays sealed on the shelf or travels to a second machine. Nothing changes because they were bought together.

We run two of these printers. Can the pack serve both?

Yes, and that is one of the cleanest uses for it. Both units are identical HP 49X supplies, so the pack splits without any pairing or configuration: one cartridge in each printer, such as a LaserJet 1320 at reception and another in the back office. Each machine then works through its own 6,000-page rating independently.

How should the spare cartridge be stored?

Flat, sealed, and out of direct sunlight in a cool dry cupboard. Toner powder does not dry out the way ink does, so a spare kept this way is still at full strength months later. Give it a gentle rock before fitting, and it prints from the first page.

Does the printer add the two cartridges' pages together?

No — the printer only ever measures the cartridge currently installed. Fit the second unit and the gauge starts again from that cartridge's own full life. That is also why a 2-pack suits a single busy printer: the changeover takes a minute, there is no mid-job ordering gap, and the running total is simply one cartridge after another.

What if the first cartridge turns out to be faulty?

Both cartridges carry the same cover: a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, detailed on our shipping and returns page. Stock ships from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST. A problem with one unit does not affect the standing of the other.

Is a pair better value than ordering singles as I go?

That depends on your rhythm. If your printer gets through a cartridge steadily, having the next one in the building removes the two risks that actually cost offices money: the emergency same-day purchase and the day of faded, reprinted pages while a delivery is in transit.

About This HP 49X 2-Pack

This pair of compatible Q5949X cartridges keeps a 1320-series printer fed the no-drama way: one working, one waiting. It belongs to the HP toner cartridges collection at Clever Supplies and suits both the single-printer office that hates running dry and the two-printer office that wants one order to cover both machines.

Compatibility is platform-wide: LaserJet 3390, LaserJet 1320, LaserJet 1320n, LaserJet 1320nw, LaserJet 1320t and LaserJet 1320tn all run on the 49X (Q5949X). Also stocked for these printers: the 49X (Q5949X) single cartridge and the standard-yield 49A (Q5949A) single cartridge.
