Frequently Asked Questions

What does "high yield colours only" mean here?

Three cartridges — cyan CF401X, magenta CF403X and yellow CF402X — in the long-life 201X versions, and no black. Each colour bay of printers like the Color LaserJet M252dw gets the bigger cartridge, while the black bay is supplied separately and is not part of this box.

How much colour printing does the set cover?

Each cartridge is rated at 2,300 pages, so the three together suit a desk that prints colour every day — reports with charts, client proposals, teaching materials. As always the rating assumes typical document coverage; pages of solid colour blocks or photographs will work through the cartridges sooner.

Why leave the black out of a three-cartridge set?

Because on colour-led printers the black frequently outlasts the colours. If your supplies gauge shows a healthy black beside three tired colours, replacing only what is empty avoids shelving a cartridge you will not need for months. When the black does fade, it can be ordered on its own.

Can I change just one colour and keep the other two back?

Yes — the bays are fully independent. Fit the magenta now if that is the channel that has gone, and hold the cyan and yellow sealed as spares. Colours installed at the same time tend to fade close together, so having the remaining pair already in the drawer turns the next fade into a quick swap.

What is the price, and what backing comes with it?

The set costs $57.30 and is covered by a 1-year warranty, with 1-year free returns through our shipping and returns policy should a cartridge arrive damaged or fail early in its life.

How quickly will it get here, and who helps with a colour fault?

We ship from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, putting most addresses a few business days from delivery. If a new colour still prints off, our support team is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST to help you work out whether the cartridge or the printer is at fault.

About This 201X Three-Colour Set

For printers whose colour bays do the real work, this set restocks all three at the longer-life rating: CF401X, CF403X and CF402X together for $57.30. It is the tidy fix when the colour side has faded as a group but the black still has legs. The black counterpart and the rest of the 201X family can be found in the HP section of our store.
