Frequently Asked Questions

I shop by part number. Which numbers are in this box?

Exactly the four in the listing name: Q6000A (black), Q6001A (cyan), Q6002A (yellow) and Q6003A (magenta) — the complete HP 124A family. If your printer's cartridge labels carry those codes, this set is a one-for-one renewal of everything in the machine.

Why is the family called both 124A and Q6000A-series?

124A is the family name HP markets the range under; the Q-numbers are the individual part numbers for each color. Buyers search both ways, so this listing leads with both. What matters at the printer is the Q-number on the cartridge, and all four are in the box.

What yield does each cartridge carry?

The Q6000A black is rated at about 2,500 pages, and the Q6001A, Q6002A and Q6003A colors at about 2,000 pages each, all on the standard five-percent test page. Pages with photographs, solid backgrounds or dense charts will use toner faster than that benchmark.

Which printers does the 124A family serve?

The Color LaserJet 1600, 2600n and 2605 series and the CM1015 and CM1017 multifunction machines — the compact color lasers of that generation, including the Color LaserJet 1600. If your machine takes one 124A cartridge, it takes all four of these.

Can I fit the cartridges over several weeks?

Yes. There is no pairing or registration between the four. Replace the black now, the cyan next month, and keep the rest sealed in the box — at $160.10 the set works as your complete spare shelf for this printer, drawn on whenever each color runs out.

Are these HP-made cartridges, and what backing do they carry?

They are Clever Supplies compatibles from our HP compatible range, built to the 124A specification. Every cartridge is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, support is available Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and orders ship from our Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California warehouses — full details on the shipping & returns page.

About This HP 124A Four-Color Set

This is the code-led listing for buyers who order by part number: Q6000A, Q6001A, Q6002A and Q6003A, one of each, $160.10 for the complete 124A renewal. No cross-referencing, no second-guessing which family your printer belongs to — the four numbers on the box are the four numbers in the machine.

I have 3 Color LaserJet 1600 in the office. These cartridges work perfectly well in them and produce beautiful printouts. I have yet to have any issues with these printers or cartridges. The users don't care for the slow speed (10-12 pages/min) of the pri
