WorkForce Pro WF-C5790

Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C5790 printer

The WorkForce Pro WF-C5790 is the multifunction flagship of the 902 RIPS family, and its ink is packs, not cartridges: black (T902XL120), cyan (T902XL220), magenta (T902XL320) and yellow (T902XL420) in the 902XL tier — up to 5,000 pages per pack (ISO/IEC 24711), DURABrite Ultra pigment, each with a new compatible chip and our lifetime warranty.

WF-C5790 Ink — 902XL Packs, and the C579R Trap

Epson's product page for the WF-C5790 confirms the family ladder with the ISO/IEC 24711 footnote our product pages carry: standard 902 packs at 3,000 pages, 902XL at 5,000 per colour, 902XXL black at 10,000. Our compatible shelf is the XL tier — T902XL120 black, T902XL220 cyan, T902XL320 magenta, T902XL420 yellow singles and the Set of 4, DURABrite Ultra pigment ink.

The trap on this model is a single letter: the WF-C579R is a different, high-volume RIPS machine that runs on T01C/T01D packs. If your badge says WF-C5790, every pack on this page is yours; if it says WF-C579R, nothing here fits. The 924 cartridges of the WF-C4310/WF-C4810 pair are likewise a separate platform.

Which 902XL should you buy?

One colour ran out: replace just that pack — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $73.49 each.
Full reset: the Set of 4 ($264.00) replaces all four packs in one box.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every pack carries a new compatible chip, so the printer reads pack levels normally between its long change intervals; a one-time on-screen confirmation is the printer checking a non-Epson pack, not an error. If a firmware update ever precedes a recognition warning, reseat the flagged pack and restart first — and the lifetime warranty covers the pack either way. The DURABrite Ultra pigment ink suits the RIPS brief: high-volume document printing that comes out dry, sharp and smudge-resistant. Free returns for the first year. As the family's multifunction flagship, this is the model most likely to justify a stocked spare set: at 5,000 pages per pack, a full Set of 4 is a long stretch of unattended printing. Singles for the colour that is low, the set for the reset — lifetime warranty on every pack, free returns within the first year. The four packs change independently, one colour at a time.
