Expression Home XP-320

Epson Expression Home XP-320 printer

The Expression Home XP-320 is the entry model of the 220 family: a compact Small-in-One whose four individual cartridges are the 220 line — in our high-capacity shelf, black (T220XL120, up to 500 pages) and cyan, magenta and yellow (up to 450 pages each). Clever Supplies compatible 220XL cartridges below carry a new chip and a lifetime warranty.

XP-320 Ink — 220XL Cartridges, and the 288 Trap Next Door

Epson lists the XP-320 with the complete 220 code set — standard T220120 / T220220 / T220320 / T220420 and high-capacity T220XL120 / T220XL220 / T220XL320 / T220XL420 — with DURABrite Ultra pigment ink in every position. Rated yields (ISO/IEC 24711): standard black up to 175 pages and each colour up to 165; XL black up to 500 pages and each colour up to 450. We stock the XL tier, because on this compact Small-in-One the standard cartridges run out fast enough that the XL's cost per page wins for almost everyone.

The trap around this model is its younger look-alike: the XP-330 belongs to the 288 family, and 288 cartridges do not work in a 220 printer — or the other way round. One digit in the model name, a completely different cartridge. Check the badge on the printer itself, or the code on the cartridge you are removing: if your badge says XP-320, every cartridge on this page is yours.

Which 220XL should you buy?

One colour ran out: replace just that colour — black, cyan, magenta and yellow singles are $10.49 each.
Full refresh: the Set of 4 ($35.94) replaces all four positions in one box.
Print every week: the Set of 9 ($67.07) stocks three blacks and two of each colour — the pattern home offices actually consume.

Chip, ink and everyday use

Every cartridge carries a new compatible chip, so the XP-320 reads the ink levels normally; a one-time on-screen confirmation is the printer checking a non-Epson cartridge, not an error. The ink itself is pigment-based DURABrite Ultra type: prints come out dry to the touch, resist smudging when highlighted, and hold up better than dye ink for school and office documents that get handled. Keep spare cartridges sealed in their bags until install day — pigment ink keeps best away from air and direct light.
