Frequently Asked Questions

We print only a few pages a week on our B1265 — is a 1,500-page cartridge oversized for us?

No, for light use it is actually the comfortable size. At 50 pages a week the rating stretches to roughly seven months; at a few pages a day it can carry a home office well past a year. Small, short-run cartridges exist for machines like the B1265 precisely because nobody wants to pay for 10,000 pages of toner that will sit in the machine for years.

What does that work out to per page?

$38.21 across the 1,500-page rating is about 2.55 cents a page. Let us be straight about that number: it is not bargain-basement, because compact cartridges never are. High-volume departmental units print cheaper pages. The B1265's bargain is elsewhere — a small printer, modest running costs in absolute dollars, and a replacement cartridge that costs under forty dollars when its turn comes.

Will a cartridge go stale if it sits in a slow printer?

Sealed in its packet, a spare keeps well stored flat, dry and away from sunlight at normal room temperature. Once installed in a lightly used B1265, the cartridge simply works through its rating at your pace — the practical advice is to buy one at a time, keep no deep stock, and reorder when print starts to fade rather than by the calendar.

Which printers share this cartridge?

The 331-7327 covers Dell's B1260 and B1265 families, including the B1260dn and B1260dnf multifunction models and the B1265dfw. So the same box that feeds your B1265 also feeds those machines, should one join the household or office later.

Is this an original Dell cartridge?

No. It is a compatible 331-7327 made by a third-party manufacturer to Dell's specification. The 1,500-page rating and $38.21 price quoted here belong to this compatible unit — the saving versus the genuine article is the badge premium you are not paying.

What if something goes wrong with it?

It arrives covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, so a unit that fails or fades early comes back to us. You can reach support Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and the complete terms are on our shipping & returns page. Orders ship from IL, PA, GA or CA.
