Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a shared 1815DN need five cartridges on the shelf?
Because a shared machine fails publicly. When a networked 1815DN runs dry, everyone who prints to it stops at once, and the cartridge is a single point of failure for the whole group. Holding this 5-pack — five 310-7945 cartridges, 25,000 rated pages in total — means the swap takes minutes and the question does not come up again for a long stretch, instead of recurring every 5,000 pages with an order in between.
What does the pack bring the cost down to?
The pack is $175.63, which is $35.13 per cartridge against $49.92 bought singly — a saving of $73.97 across the five, and a running cost of roughly 0.70 cents per page instead of about one cent. For a machine whose page counter serves several people, that difference accumulates quietly across 25,000 pages.
Do copies and received faxes draw on these cartridges too?
Yes. On the 1815DN, every sheet that comes out of the machine — network print jobs, copies from the glass, incoming faxes — is produced by the same installed 310-7945 cartridge. Only scanning to a file avoids toner. That is why a shared multifunction printer consumes its rating faster than print-job counts alone suggest, and why the shelf stock matters.
Are these genuine Dell cartridges in the pack?
No. They are compatible 310-7945 cartridges from a third-party manufacturer, made to the specification the Dell 1815DN works with. The pack economics, the 5,000-page rating per unit and the cover below all belong to these compatible cartridges rather than Dell-branded stock.
How do we manage the stock so we never hit empty?
Fit cartridges in shelf order and treat opening the last one as the reorder trigger — at that point the machine still has 5,000 rated pages ahead of it, which is ample time for the next order to arrive. Keeping a note of the date and page count at each swap also turns the team's real monthly volume from a guess into a number.
What warranty stands behind the pack?
Each cartridge carries a 1-year warranty with 1-year free returns, so an early failure from the pack returns to us instead of landing on your budget. Terms are set out on our shipping & returns page, support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our warehouses in IL, PA, GA or CA.
