Frequently Asked Questions
Our 1235c prints have gone washed out. Which cartridge should we suspect first?
Read the symptom by color. Blues and greens turning grey usually point at the cyan, 330-3015, running dry. Reds and skin tones going dull implicate the magenta, 330-3014. A yellow-ish cast or washed-out warm tones suggest the yellow, 330-3013. Each color in this family is rated at only 1,000 pages, so one color reaching the end while the others still print is the most common cause of tired-looking output — ahead of any mechanical problem.
What is included in this set?
All four cartridges for the Dell Color Laser 1235c family: the 330-3012 black rated at 1,500 pages, and the 330-3015 cyan, 330-3014 magenta and 330-3013 yellow rated at 1,000 pages each. The four compatible cartridges together are $103.22, roughly $25.81 per cartridge, and they refresh every slot in one session.
If only one color has faded, why replace the whole set?
You do not have to — the slots are independent, and swapping just the faded color is legitimate. The case for the full set is balance: the four cartridges have lived through the same pages, so a fresh color beside three aging ones can leave output looking uneven in a different way a few weeks later. Owners who print color work that has to look right — proposals, listings, photos — usually refresh all four together and keep the colour predictable.
How do the ratings work on a machine that prints photos and graphics?
The 1,500-page black and 1,000-page color ratings assume 5% page coverage. A page of text is close to that; a full-bleed photo is many times it, and it spends all three color cartridges simultaneously. On graphics-heavy work, expect the colors to finish well before their page count in calendar terms. That is the rating system working as designed, on every brand — plan your reorder around your richest pages, not your lightest.
Could the fading be the printer rather than the toner?
It could, and there is a simple order of suspicion. Fading that follows one color family is almost always that cartridge nearing the end of its 1,000-page life. Fading that is uniform across every color including black, or streaks in exactly the same position on every page, deserves a look at the machine itself. Trying a fresh set first is the cheapest diagnostic there is — and with a 1-year warranty behind it, it is not a gamble.
What cover comes with the set if the problem turns out to be a cartridge?
A 1-year warranty on every cartridge and 1-year free returns, with the details on our shipping and returns page. Support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and orders ship from our warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California.
