Frequently Asked Questions

What is in this 2 pack?

Two CF226A black cartridges — the HP 26A black — each one rated at up to 3,100 pages, sold together for $46.46. It is a black-only pack: the same cartridge twice, one to install today and one to hold back as the spare.

Why keep the second cartridge sealed?

A cartridge sitting sealed in its box keeps its toner fresh far longer than one that has been opened and left in a drawer. Install the first, leave the second exactly as it arrived, and it will be in proper condition whenever the working cartridge runs out.

Which printers does this pair fit?

Both cartridges fit the LaserJet Pro M402 series — the LaserJet M402d is one — and the LaserJet Pro M426 multifunction models. Because both boxes carry the same CF226A code, the spare is never the wrong spare: whichever machine in the family empties first, the cartridge on the shelf fits it.

When is the right moment to order the next pack?

The day the spare goes into the printer. That swap is the natural trigger: the shelf is now empty, and reordering then means the next spare is in place long before the fresh cartridge approaches its limit.

Where should the spare wait?

Flat, in its sealed packaging, in a normal room — away from radiators, sunlit windows and damp floors. Stored that way it waits patiently; there is no benefit to opening it early just to check it.

What backing does the pack carry?

Each cartridge in the pack is covered by our 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns. Stock ships from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia and California, with delivery details on our shipping and returns page, and support is available Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.

About This 26A Black 2 Pack

A two-pack turns a toner emergency into a non-event. One CF226A goes into the printer, the other waits sealed on the shelf, and the low-toner warning loses its power to stop the day's work — the swap takes a minute, and the reorder happens calmly afterward.

The price of that calm is $46.46 for the pair, each cartridge rated at up to 3,100 pages. For a printer that cannot be allowed to sit idle, one working cartridge plus one waiting cartridge is the simplest insurance there is.

The cartridge drops into the LaserJet M402d, LaserJet M402dn, LaserJet M402dw and LaserJet MFP M426fdn. Sizing is flexible around it: the 26A single cartridge (CF226A) at the neighbouring step, and the 26A cartridge for the M402 series (CF226A) listed for the printers by name.
