Frequently Asked Questions

Does scanning documents use up any of this magenta?

None at all. Scanning is a lamp-and-sensor job — no toner touches the page. It is the copying and printing sides of the 6505 that draw on the 106R01595, so a workstation that mostly scans can sit beside a magenta warning for weeks without making it worse, while a morning of color copying spends the cartridge directly.

Why do the reds in our copies turn orange while copied text stays sharp?

Copies and prints feed from the same cartridge, and red is mixed on the page from magenta plus yellow. As the magenta fades, copied red seals, stamps and logos drift orange, yet black text — which is not built from magenta at all — copies as crisply as ever. That split behavior is the fingerprint of a spent magenta rather than a scanner fault.

How many cartridges are in this listing, given the title says "Cartridges"?

One. Read past the plural title: the box contains a single compatible magenta cartridge, the 106R01595, at $31.95, rated at up to 2,500 pages. There is no pair or bundle attached to this listing, and one cartridge fully answers a magenta-low message on the 6505.

Is the WorkCentre magenta a different part from the Phaser 6500's?

It is the very same supply. The WorkCentre 6505 was built on the Phaser 6500 engine, so the 106R01595 moves freely between the 6505, WorkCentre 6505N and WorkCentre 6505DN, and the Phaser 6500, 6500N and 6500DN — useful if your office runs one of each.

How can I tell whether it is the copying or the printing that drained it?

Look at what the office actually does. The 6505's job statistics separate copy counts from print counts, and magenta spend follows color work in either column. A reception machine copying color forms all day empties this cartridge far faster than a print-only desk, even at identical page totals — color coverage per page is the real meter.

What backing does the cartridge come with?

A 1-year warranty and free returns for a full year, with the full wording on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support is reachable Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
