Frequently Asked Questions

The red bars in our copied charts come out orange, on copies and prints alike — what is failing?

When both paths fail the same way, the shared ingredient is at fault, and for red that ingredient is magenta. The WorkCentre mixes red from magenta plus yellow every time it prints a page, whether the job arrived from the glass or from a computer. Once the 106R02757 fades, yellow wins and red slides to orange everywhere at once — while black bars in the same chart stay deep and true.

Does the 6027 use any magenta for black-and-white copying?

No. A mono copy or print is laid down with black alone, and scanning uses no toner at all. Magenta is spent only when a page actually carries colour, which is why a multifunction in a scan-and-file office can keep the same 106R02757 for a surprisingly long time — colour copying, not copying in general, is what drinks it.

The title says "Toner Cartridges" plural — what am I actually getting?

A single cartridge. The plural is catalogue wording carried across these listings; inside the box is one 106R02757 magenta cartridge at $25.22, rated at up to 1,000 pages. That is the complete order — one cartridge, one colour, nothing else bundled in.

Halfway through a long colour copy run, the reds started drifting — is that this cartridge?

Very likely. A cartridge near the end does not fail all at once; it thins gradually, so page one of a long run can look right while page forty has quietly lost its reds. Compare the first and last sheets of the run side by side: a steady slide from red toward orange across the batch is the fingerprint of a magenta supply giving out, and pausing to fit the fresh 106R02757 restarts the run at full colour.

Which machines take this magenta cartridge?

This listing is written for the WorkCentre 6027, and the same 106R02757 supply also serves the Phaser 6022. If both models sit in your office, one spare cartridge answers whichever machine asks first.

What backing does the cartridge carry?

A 1-year warranty and a full year of free returns stand behind it, with the full wording on our shipping and returns page. Shipments go out from Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and help is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
