Frequently Asked Questions

Does scanning use up yellow toner?

No. Scanning is a light-and-sensor job; it lays down no toner at all. Copying is the function that spends the 106R02758, because every copy is a fresh print. An office that scans heavily but copies lightly can watch its yellow level sit still for months, while a run of colour copies draws it down exactly like printing does.

Why do my colour copies look cold even though the originals are warm?

That is the classic signature of an empty yellow. Copies of photos lose their warmth first: grass copies blue-green, oranges copy red, and skin tones turn pink. Because the scanner reads the original correctly, the distortion is introduced at the printing stage. Print the built-in colour test page — a washed-out yellow patch settles whether the cartridge or the original is at fault.

The listing says "Cartridges" — am I buying a multipack?

You are not. This WorkCentre 6027 listing ships one compatible yellow cartridge, the 106R02758, at $25.22. The plural is catalogue wording carried across the listing family; the box holds a single cartridge, which is all the machine asks for when it calls for yellow.

Where can I check the yellow level on a WorkCentre 6027?

The supplies levels show on the machine's own panel, and on a networked unit they also appear in the embedded web interface, so whoever looks after the printer can check from their desk. Treat the percentage as an estimate — the printed test page is the ground truth when a colour copy job matters.

Which machines share this yellow cartridge?

The same supply feeds the Phaser 6022 and the WorkCentre 6027. A mixed desk with both models needs only one yellow spare between them.

What cover comes with the cartridge?

A 1-year warranty stands behind it, and returns stay free for a full year — see our shipping and returns page for the terms. Stock ships from warehouses in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia or California, and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
