Frequently Asked Questions

Does copying on a WorkCentre 6015 draw on this same cartridge?

Yes. A WorkCentre is a printer with a scanner on top, and every copy it makes is a print — laid down with the same toner, from the same cartridges. So a 6015 that copies as much as it prints works its black cartridge, this 106R1630, roughly twice as fast as a print-only machine with the same page count.

What about scanning — does that use toner too?

No. Scanning is a camera's job: the page is read, not printed, and no toner leaves the cartridge. Only output consumes toner — prints, copies, and faxes the machine prints out. A 6015 used mostly as a scanner can keep the same black cartridge for a very long time.

How many cartridges does this listing include?

One, honestly stated: the title's "Toner Cartridges" is plural by catalog habit, but this is a single compatible 106R1630 at $29.92, rated at up to 2,000 pages. Nothing else is in the box, and no second cartridge is implied.

Which cartridge code should the old one carry?

106R1630 — for the black slot. The 6015's color slots take different cartridges with different numbers, and this listing is black only. If the cartridge you removed is stamped with that code, this is its compatible replacement.

What does the page economics look like on a multifunction machine?

About 1.50 cents of toner per page at $29.92 over a 2,000-page rating measured at 5% coverage. Copy-heavy use skews coverage higher — originals with photos or shaded forms drink more toner — so a copying office may see fewer pages than a printing one from the same cartridge.

Which other machines use the same black?

The rest of the platform: Phaser 6000 and 6000B, Phaser 6010 and Phaser 6010N, plus this WorkCentre 6015 and its WorkCentre 6015V/B and WorkCentre 6015V/N variants. Warranty cover is a full year with free returns for a year, per our shipping and returns page; stock ships from IL, PA, GA and CA, support answers Monday to Friday, 9 AM–5 PM CST, and the range lives on the Xerox toner page.
