Frequently Asked Questions

Is a single cartridge a sensible purchase for a high-volume 7800DX?

As an immediate replacement, yes — it is the fastest way to get black back in the machine for $112.34. As a long-term strategy for a DX that prints at production pace, singles are the expensive habit: the multi-packs in this family bring the same cartridge down to $97.55 each. This listing is for today; the packs are for the quarter.

How quickly will a DX work through 24,000 pages?

Faster than any other variant — that is what the configuration is built for. A DX running several thousand black pages a week can finish a cartridge in a matter of weeks rather than months. The 24,000-page rating (at the standard 5% coverage measure) is still the right comparison yardstick; on a high-volume machine it simply converts into a shorter calendar life.

Does the DX take a special black cartridge?

No special cartridge exists for it. The black supply is one design — 106R01569 — shared by the base 7800 and the DG, DN, DX and GX configurations alike. The letters after the model name describe the printer, never the toner; one code covers black for the whole platform.

What does black cost per page at DX volumes?

Bought singly, about 0.47 cents — $112.34 over up to 24,000 pages. At DX pace that fraction is multiplied by tens of thousands of pages a month, which is why the per-page gap between this single and the five-pack (roughly 0.41 cents) turns into real money on this particular variant.

The name says "Cartridges" — is this really one?

Really one. The plural in the listing title is a habit of the catalog, not a count of the box. What arrives is a single black 106R01569 cartridge; the multi-cartridge versions of this listing's family are sold as their own clearly counted packs.

What warranty and delivery terms apply?

The cartridge is backed by our 1-year warranty with free returns for a full year, as set out on our shipping and returns page. We ship from IL, PA, GA and CA, our team is on hand Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST, and more for the platform is on the Xerox toner page.
