Frequently Asked Questions

The DX is built for long duplex runs — does two-sided work use toner differently?

Duplexing spreads the same images across both faces of the sheet, so a Phaser 7800 DX doing booklets and double-sided reports consumes toner by the image, not by the sheet. Paper use halves; toner use follows the artwork. Long duplex runs are exactly where high-yield cartridges earn their place, because a mid-run change interrupts a collated job.

What does this set contain?

A high-yield cartridge for every position: black 106R01569, cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568. One carton carries the complete change, so a scheduled swap needs nothing else on hand.

What are the rated yields?

Up to 24,000 pages for black 106R01569, and up to 17,000 pages apiece for cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568, all at the standard 5% coverage. Booklet work with full-bleed covers will draw the colors down faster than that benchmark, which is why DX owners tend to plan changes between jobs rather than during them.

Should all four be changed before a big booklet run?

If two or more gauges are already low, yes — a fresh full set is cheap insurance against a part-collated stack. If only one position is flagging, fit that one and hold the rest; the cartridges work independently and the sealed spares keep their full life on the shelf.

How long does the four-cartridge change take?

Minutes, at the front of the machine, with no tools. Each cartridge is keyed to its color bay, and the printer resumes from the panel's ready state as soon as the door closes — the job queue does not need to be rebuilt.

What cover does the set carry?

A 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns, with the details on our shipping and returns page. Orders are dispatched from IL, PA, GA and CA warehouses — whichever is nearest — and support runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
