Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a graphics-configuration 7800 care about full sets more than most?

The GX build of the Phaser 7800 is bought for color work that gets judged — proofs, client samples, presentation pieces. On those jobs the four colors age as a team, and output consistency is easiest to hold when the whole team starts fresh together. A full set change is the graphics shop's way of resetting the baseline before important work.

Which cartridges does the set include?

One high-yield cartridge per position: black 106R01569, cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568. Nothing else is required to return the machine to a full, even load.

What yields should I plan around?

Black 106R01569 is rated up to 24,000 pages; cyan 106R01566, magenta 106R01567 and yellow 106R01568 are rated up to 17,000 pages each, on the 5% coverage standard. Proofing and full-color artwork consume far more toner per page than that reference, so on a GX the ratings are best used to compare cartridges, while the job book tells you the refill rhythm.

Must the four be fitted together to get the consistency benefit?

That is the usual practice before a critical run, but it is a choice, not a requirement. The printer accepts each cartridge independently at any time; fitting the set as a group simply means all four colors begin the run at the same age.

How are spare cartridges best kept in a studio environment?

Sealed, flat and away from the light of a studio window. Toner is stable at ordinary room conditions, and an unopened cartridge delivers its full rated yield whenever it is eventually fitted, so buying the set ahead of the busy season carries no penalty.

What warranty and shipping terms apply?

The set is covered by a 1-year warranty and 1-year free returns — see our shipping and returns page for the full text. We dispatch from warehouses in IL, PA, GA and CA, nearest first, and support is available Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM CST.
